Hong Tran is responsible for the daily operations of the company’s financial planning services. Hong’s primary duties include portfolio management and financial plan implementations.
Prior to founding the predecessor firm, Hong Tran Financial in 2002, Hong worked for Century Management, a two billion dollar money management firm in Austin, Texas.
Hong graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and went on to obtain his Certified Financial Planner®designation in 2005. He was selected as a Subject Matter Expert for the CFP® Board Council on Examinations in 2012 and 2008. Hong was also a CFP® Annual Meeting panelist in 2006. Hong is also an Enrolled Agent.
Hong was born in Vietnam, but was raised in Texas. He loves the outdoors and enjoys rock climbing.
David Chung is responsible for the daily operations of the company’s financial planning services. David’s primary duties include research & analysis of portfolios and assisting in the implementation & execution of investment strategies. David is also the president of Transparent Financial, Inc., a real estate brokerage and property management company.
Prior to founding the predecessor firm, Wealth Management Coach, LLC in 2005, David was an investment advisor with Castle Group Investment Counsel Inc., where he provided financial planning services to clients. David started his financial career as a financial consultant with Fortune Securities, Inc. While at Fortune Securities, he assisted clients in analysis of investments, insurance and risk management services.
Preceding his foray into the financial advisory profession, David was the founder & president of Mini Market Inc. He managed and operated two business divisions that provided steady cash flow while accomplishing the following goals: increased monthly revenue at Tony’s Mini Market, a division of Mini Market Inc., an average of 30% per year by creating and implementing new strategic plans. David also introduced new products to compliment existing products and resources at Wireless Central, a division of Mini Market Inc.
David developed his research background and skills as an economic research analyst with the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC). While at the LAEDC, David conducted primary and secondary research for Jack Kyser, chief economist. He also assisted in hosting the Annual Eddy Awards Banquet and the Annual Los Angeles Economic Venture Forum. David contributed to the development of many publications such as: Roadmap to Industry Clusters, the Essential Business Resource Guide, Demographic Profiles of Cities in Los Angeles County, Largest Employers in the Los Angeles Five-County Area.
David graduated from California State University, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and an emphasis in finance. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker and also holds a Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and Series 66 (The Uniform Combined State Law Examination).
In his free time, David enjoys participating and watching a variety of sports such as basketball, gymnastics, yoga, baseball, and football. He volunteers as Reserve Deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department (Altadena Station).
